The only thing that really needs to improve is the photography. I suspect a lot of details are being lost in the presentation. For example, the cloak looks very flat, without much highlighting, but the quality of painting elsewhere tells me this probably isn't the way it really looks (in the close-up at the bottom, for example, I can see the dark, brownish shades in the cloak creases, and the highlights are more apparent). Get the pictures brighter, choose a neutral background, and it will be easier to make suggestions on improving the painting itself.
