Carnifex of Hivefleet Snutte

This Carnifex sure learned me a lot about painting. I struggled with the chimney-like structures on his back for ages, and finally had to give up since no more paint could be added without totally filling up the crevices that were supposed to be there. Fortunately for mr Carnifex I was happy about how his carapace got, so he escaped slow death by being thrown repeatedly into the wall. Unfortunately I only have gloss varnish at home for the moment, and so the picture looks a bit odd att places where the gloss reflects the flash from the camera.

I think the chimneys look great. And you've got a good bit of contrast in the fine details on the head. I'm taking crib notes :)

I think this looks very good. Why use anything other than gloss varnish for tyranids. Gives them a slimy Alien like quality.
