Necron Warrior and Scarabs

These are the first finished miniatures painted for a Necron army I'm now starting. While the color scheme is intentionally designed to be fairly straightforwards, quick to paint, replicable, and I don't consider these particular figures "competition pieces," I did put some extra work into them in terms of lighting effects, muted source lighting, and battle damage since these guys are more or less the test figures for the rest of my troops. For those familiar with Games Workshop 40K backstory, my theme for these troops is that they've been in statis on a Tomb World which is now near the present-day Eye of Terror, and thus have slept for millenia while being subtly and indirectly touched by the Warp. While I understand that Necrons are essentially mechanical constructs housing remnants of their former essence, are not linked to the Warp at all, and are made of "living metal" with the ability to self-repair, I thought it would be a neat background for my army and give me opportunity for limited conversion - one of the Scarabs has a portion of its carapace that has been "mutated" by the Warp, for example. Comments and/or criticisms appreciated!

Misterjustin has the right of it, a little weathering might make a lot of difference. HOWEVER dont fall into that typical Space Marine weathering effect where the sacred, Holy, Treasured armor is pitted and beaten to pieces. NOTE: all the Space Wolf models having trouble getting a Servitor to clean their armor. Too much of that going around. Perhaps a few with major holes punched through the armor to contrast the clean nature of the plate armor. This would go with the STAND BACK UP rule for Necrons.

I think that Brother Armand hit the praise for this piece pretty well. Without exception this is the best Necron scheme I've seen and the only one that I'd ever consider replicating. I would love to see what you could do without speed painting these -- add some weathering, chipping, etc. Hopefully we'll see that on your Lord model.
