Nurbald in the Automaton

I tried to create a scene of Nurbald inspecting an area in the automaton. The base was done with parts form a spoil clock, plastic card, chains and a few odds and ends. I gave the "sponge" method another try for the chippings and this time I'm more happy with the results. If you are wondering why the blue light source is not shown on the model's face, its because I've chosen "aestheticism" over " realism". Instead of normal OSL, I glazed the blue over various of the metal parts for a cold metal feel. This project is also my entry for the semi final rd of the IP3 challenge theme "basework". Hope you enjoy it as much as I did building it.

Wow that is really amazing!!! Fantastic Base and great paintjob. Very good job at the metals and good rust effects. I also really like his hair and his skin. Well done :-)

The base is great, having seen the WIP pictures of the humble components and then this final version, it's quite a transformation! The different textures and corrosion are particularly nice. The main figure is also very nicely painted, but I'm not sure the vivid colours of the hair and face mesh with the darker colours of the rest for me.
