Acid Spore Mine

Here's my first attempt at doing a "jewel", but I figured that rather than do it on a regular circular bump that should be a gem stone, I'd try it on a lowly spore mine. I picked up the Macragge set to see how it plays, and was hunting around for a unique paint scheme for the spore mines. Its not a bad piece of work, but the blends could be a bit better to make it more jewel like. I was going for the bag-of-acid-head look, and the little ridges along the side really threw me on what to do exactly. I feel if I'd stuck to just a simple jewel shape rather than try to get more "authentic" it would look better overall. The base is pretty basic, as I'm going with the suggested desert landscape for the set partly because its simple. I'm trying for a desolate waste with no vegetation.

I fail to see any actual painting. The colors are sloppy and unimaginative. No real effort at basing. It is really sloppy to get sand on the mini. It speaks to your laziness.

I have to say, I like the spore theme you seem to have! The spore itself with the gree swirls I think is pretty impressive, do approve. Can I ask where the spore theme came from? Is it a series or such that I do not know of or did you sculpt those?
