Black Templar Emperor's Champion

This is actually the Emperor's Champion for my Black Templar army. I painted him rather quickly in order to get me on to the table sooner instead of later but I'm still reasonably pleased with the result.

With the exception of the Assault Marine legs he is 100% Black Templar sprue with no greenstuff or real conversion work. I do intend to take inspiration from this model to make a crazy one for my BT army upgrade... some day.

Common questions and comments I've gotten while working on this one:

"How many purity seals are there?"
13 and the tabard on his backpack.

Why didn't you do OSL on the lantern?"
Because I did him in a hurry (3-4 hours total) to include in my army. When I do a new army, and upgrade my models, I'll include OSL on the lantern.

"Hey, checks are an Ork thing - Space Marines don't use checks!"
This one does. The original colours for the BT were black and white - I decided to do checks because I wanted to paint checks at the time. No better reason, really.

"Why didn't you do something more interesting with his power sword?"
First for the same reason I didn't do OSL and second because I thought it would be nice to see a plain, metal(ish) sword for a change.

Myself, I'd rate this model between a 6 and 7 - the painting is decent (if rushed), the theme is well executed and the use of BT parts is similarly well executed.

Thanks for looking and voting.

Thanks - I'll take my time when I revisit this model. This one was done quickly in order to get an army on the table quickly.

Well, even if it's a rush job, it's better than my best. Oh, and checks are not just for Orks.
