ME-11: Mounted Gothmog

This is my Mounted Gothmog painted up for the Chicago games day. Although it did make the final cut, it did not place. His steed is slightly converted to make him more animated. I chose very dark and gritty colors to keep with the movie somewhat closely. NMM weathered bronze was painted on the armor, and a dirty steel NMM was used for the weapon. The steed was painted as realistically as possible, using two different base colors, split at the belly line (like a real dog or wolf). Multiple glazes of greens, blues, grays, browns and reds were used to "deepen" the fur, and make him look more realistic. The "electric slate" base was done the night before the comp, and I only had time to apply a few glazes to start altering the colors. This was my first LOTR mini, and over all I'm pleased.

Very cool piece, I like the realistic way you painted it, very gritty, and the piece indeed shows motion...
