Artemis and Shetland Pony + Crunch Waffle Waggamaeph
I call this "Thistle and Orchid" The whole thing came about when I pulled the wings off of a disney vending-machine fairy and began to hunt about for what I could attach them to. The shetland pony had recently arrived from Hasslefree and I thought the little guy looked like he was flying. Then I discovered the wings were perfect for Artemis as well. When trying to decide how to hide the pin for the pony's wings, a friend suggested having it hang from something - and so I found an appropriate flower. The shield design came about because I was hunting for a flower I thought I could reasonably freehand. ;) I added the crunch waffle waggamaeph because the rock seemed to need something hiding behind it. The curls of bark are from a potporri bag I got at the dollar store. I think it might be vanilla bark.. I entered the diorama at GenCon Indy 2007. Didn't place, but at least it survived the trip, both ways! Whew.
