Fianna Musician

This is a Now and Then experiment I did to see the difference in my tech and style from when I last painted this miniature in 4/02. It was an interesting and fun project and the comparison pics are here: http://www.minizilla.com/sintricat/finbnf.html

I love your work, so please take this constructively. I have problems with the hair and the skin tone. You've got a very yellow base tone for the skin that I don't feel blends well with your lighter skin highlights. There is a general lack of depth to your colors and while you affect some clean blends, I don't find them to span a large enough spectrum. To give this model a higher score I'd need to see deeper shades and lighter highlights in general. Some of your blacklining also seems a little rough around the back of the sword detail, the back of the legs on the upper thigh, and the back of one of her arm guards. Also the sword is not painted up to the standard of the rest of the mini. All in all it doesn't matter much since you fetched a nice price on your auction for this figure, but I am being picky in an effort to be helpful :)
