Red Dragon

Although I have been involved in art for most of my life, this is my first attempt at painting miniatures. I started painting minis 4 or 5 months ago when I noticed a friend's unpainted collection. I have finished about 7 minis, all of them by Reaper. This is the second Reaper dragon that I have painted. The first one was given to the friend's wife as a gift. This dragon wasn't placed on a stand because he was intended to be used for tabletop gaming. I have given him several coats of matte finish but the scales were glazed with a pearl finish and then highlighted with a metallic gold wash so the actual mini appears shimmery. Comments appreciated.

I really love the effect you got here, and the way you've done the shading. It's cool! :)

Would be a 9 but for the basing. (Even if it's used for gaming you could mount it on a standard base.) Fantastic paint job though. I really like the color scheme. Nice work.

Outstanding job. Can't hardly believe it's your first. Reaper mini's are very cool.
