Thanks for your comments ! For the ground, i did a mud, mixing white glue hood, water, soil, acrylic color (mat earth) and some little gravel. I "painted" the ground with this mixture. I glued some plants, and i painted all with different acrylic colors. I used oil painted for the highlight. At the end, after i have glued the figure on the ground, i dirty the legs and foot of the figure.

Absolutely fantastic. The angle of his head is a bit odd, but the paintwork is great and that base is fabulously realistic - with little scrub plants trying to get by on the tiny water available. This really gives the feel of the terrain, and the heraldry must have been a bugger to get so evenly spaced and consistent.
