I played with some techniques, like zenithal lighting, and no base coat over the primer. All colors except the gold were built with many, many layers of glazes.

I guess it sold for a bit more! I can only wonder how much it would have gone for when the new codex came out... Anyway, thanks for all the feedback!

I agree with the others: the base maybe wasn't the best idea but I think the paintjob is pretty fantastic. One of the best Dark Angels I've seen, and there have been a few lately :D It would be a shame if this thing sold for its current price of about $40. I guess the market's cooled down a bit since the book came out.

very very nice model. wish i had the paints and skill to do that. frankly, i dunt care bout the base altho it looks ok. but what i dunt understand is why it getting sold for so dam low currently
