Nice for table-top.
I'd work a bit on Gradient shade/highlighting but nice work, especially for your FIRST!!
I fiddled with the contrast and stuck in a background. 15 seconds and I used Paint and Microsoft Office.

This is a good start and for tabletop would be fine. But, if you want to start improving I would have done multiple colors on the the tusks with the tips being more white and the bases more stained. The metals look ok but the rest really needs a better picture to be adequately critiqued. There are few articles on photoshop or gimp (which is free) in the articles section.
