a suggestion: a good way to paint silver, to make it incredibly smooth, for necrons in particular, get some boltgun metal on your finger, and smear it over the entire model, instant shading and super smooth, then flesh wash wherever you want rust, and it looks very nice, if you want to add color choose a color and use many shades to build up on certain parts
