ive always been interested in lizardmen, but havent painted many - reapers line is fun and deep, ill be painting a few more. the painting was straightforward - i wanted him to be bright and vibrant, yet earthy at the same time. i practced some tools i use a lot: each scale is painted with a gem technique, and i enjoyed the opportunity to experiment with washes on metals. the shield was....interesting. iwanted to tr something different; id been playing with a SEM technique that ive far from mastered, in conjunction with a worn metal look. i cant say it came out well, but it was definately a learning experience. unfortunately the shield ended up covering some of my favorie detail work on the mini completely. i think he's neat though, andill defanitely paint another. id really like some feedback, what do you think? funny

The effect on the shield is REALLY cool - although i think the weathering obscures it a bit too much. The face is cool too, but the mini looks kind of flat from the back.

Nice. You could always pop that shield off and give him a buckler :) Is the base detail just made from putty?
