Old Prince Tyrian

I've only ever painted minis for gaming, but would like to achieve competition level painting. This is a model that I painted about 5 years ago. Please give me brutaly honest critiques on how I can improve. Thanks!

hmmm....thin the paint is always fine. But I DO like this very much, especially if it is for gaming. But you can't tell me you weren't interested in painting much....this shows too much practise in details and colour-scheme! Great mini at all!

8.5 , but rounded up, just because I like the figure! What kind of crap is that, that you should use a limited pallette to achieve a good mini?!?! I don't believe it I agree with the remarks about thin jour paints down a little. Cool model!!

i think you're good. work on those gems s little. you should definitely limit your palette and commit contrasting colors and the color wheel to memory, i lot of good painters are defeated by crappy colored models. also, dont work on ugly models. this guys headdress is all over the place, icky icky fifth ed high elves!
