Marauder Troll w/ tree club

This was among a batch of Marauder trolls I bought and painted several years ago. These guys were a blast to paint, and I think I used drybrushing pretty heavily to lay down the base skin tones. After that, I went in with detail brushes and painted warts, boils, etc., with a direct painting method. Very little inks or glazing used. I was trying to match the paint jobs in an old White Dwarf that had pix of these models. Unfortunately, they were still being made of lead back in those days, and the ankles were a bit fragile. With this mini, I had to go back and pin and epoxy him back together because he'd snapped off at one of the ankles. I just finished touching him up earlier today... I love them because they are humorous, and have lots of character. Let me know what you think! Regards, Gordon

It is actually very sad that GW doesn`t produce a newer version of them. The Stonetrolls look pretty much like them, if you change the head a little bit.

Ohh! I love the old trolls from Marauder. I have tried to get my hands on one of those for many years. I get a warm and happy feeling when I see that you have painted this fellow in an old school style. I think you have made a great job painting this mini. The only downside I can see is the stone on his reckless and the kind of empty base. Keep up the great work!
