Chaos Champion of Nurgle

This was a mini I painted several years ago. Unfortunatly, minis back then were still made of lead and could be fragile. This one wound up with a bent sword at one time or another and the paint was cracked. So, I decided today to get him back out and re-paint the sword. While I was at it, I couldn't resist touching up the green armor too. When we were playing Warhammer at the time he was first painted, one of my friends liked to play Chaos, so I painted this guy for his army general. He always liked to give him the Bone Blade as a magic item, so I decided to paint the sword that way. The sword has a base coat of Bleached Bone, with a wash of Snakebite Leather. After that, I built the highlights back up with very thin layers of Bleached Bone thinned down with water and a drying retarder. Then I went back in with thinned down Snakebite Leather again in specific areas, and for the darkest parts of the sword blade I painted in with thinned down Bestial Brown. The armor was Scorpion Green as a base coat, with thinned down Ork Flesh washed in for the darker recesses. Over all, I'm very pleased with the result. Let me know what you think! Regards, Gordon

One more love old school painted mini. If you have problems with photos try to take the photo in daylight. And then use Photoshop and the "Auto level" tool in the program. It´s a great auto correct tool on bad photos. I will visit your page soon to se if you posted something new. Keep up the great work!

Yes, I've been less than pleased with the results of my photography on several of these miniatures I've posted lately, and am trying to deal with it. I tried the "auto correct" option with Microsoft Office Picture Manager with this one, and unfortunately, it came out looking "nuked". Once I get the lighting and camera situation squared away, I'll probably re-photograph and re-post this mini.

Aya! The red hurts my eyes! But then again, that makes for striking contrast. Keep on painting!
