Traeg, Barbarian.

Yet, another picture of the Barbarian....Painting it seems is only half the battle...the other hald is being satisfied with your photography. This is shot with the one light in which I used to relate where my dark and light tones would fall. This was an experiment with light and shadow. I wanted to "light" the mini dramatically and therefore paint not just the highlights and midtones, but to paint in the shadows. I did that by first painting the mini in standard omni directional lighting scheme where the mini was painted in an even light. I then added in the shadows that would fall on the figure being cast from itself and from a single light source. Alot of the shading you are seeing is from the paint blending.

I really don't like this mini, but the way you have painted it is amazing. He looks like he's standing there on a sunny day. I especially like the way you had his own body cast shadows on himself (like under his left arm.) The skin tones you have achieved look natural and are just right for a man that runs around without his shirt on all the time. :) The fur on his loin cloth was well done too, but the highlights you have achieved on the skin are what does it for me. Nice!
