CMON7 Contest -- Garu Loves Pucca

While thinking of what to do with this figure for the contest, it hit me: Pucca all grown up! The hair was perfectly similar. And thus, Garu Loves Pucca was created. Grown-up Pucca has just dispatched the lead ninja Tobe and four of his ninja followers, thus finally earning Garu's love, admiration and notice, as all young boys eventually notice those annoying little girls aren't little or annoying anymore. Pucca is the limited Lilith from CMON (#708), which belongs to an unreleased Forsaken Prevailer faction in the Dark Age game universe. Garu was made from green stuff, as were the ninja headbands and the apple. The column was the subject of my "A Quick Column" here in the articles and its construction can be found there. The blocks are Sculpty. Everything was placed upon a wooden heart base.

Not half bad, good effort on the lady but what caught my eye first was that the rock 'had no life'... OK, rock isn't supposed to have life so I guess a better description would be that it lacks depth. The rest of the basing is very well done but the rock detracts.

I'd give this a 6.5. I like the idea a lot, and I'm torn between saying that more shading is needed and acknowledging that it's based on cartoon characters who probably don't have too much in the way of shading. I think the stone blocks could do with more texture/shading to them most.
