Awesome first try. If you were trying to get close to the image on the card (im guessing you were) then a lighter basecoat could help followed by darker washes before highlighting. This would keep the mini lighter. And nice base!
Did you do the base yourself as well? If so, excellent job for a first try, really tasteful. The painting is ok for a start, I see you paint highlights and shades. You might try to add more detail in the future (duh really huh). Well anyone keep on painting man.
