Did you say that this is your first model? If so, you're off to a good start. I like the base and it's good that you are pointing out the details in the model. The glossy finish takes away from the cleanliness, however, and (in my opinion) there's too many black splotchy areas that take away from the realism... (however it does lend to a comic-book style that I happen to be a fan of, so I kind-of like it)
