Half Timber Cottage
This is a small cottage, sized to fit within my current village project. All of the stonework is made from pink foam. The rest of the building is foamcore, balsa, and cardboard. The windows are balsa, with a couple of Mordheim windows as well. The tree is scratchbuilt from wire, clay, and Woodland Scenics clump foliage. The pumpkin patch is from Busch. The miniatures are Reaper and Gripping Beast. The stovepipe is a conversion of a Tamiya street lamp 1/48. When I built this project, it was with the inention of building a quality piece in the minimum amount of time. My projects have a tendancy to drag on for a few months, so I wanted to do one in much less time. My goal was two weeks, but the weather stretched that out to 17 days. One of the biggest time savers was cardboard shingles rather than styrene. Overall, I'm quite happy with the results on this. I will try to retake the pics in the spring, it's cold and wet, and not ideal photo conditions now. Please leave a comment, I can learn from them, good or bad. Thanks ahead of time.
