Dark Angel Terminator Captain

This is one of my first really serious painting projects, though i know its no comparison to what is here but its my first post and i would appreciate all constructive criticism please! The Captain is unchanged, the banner's are made of greenstuff and again one of my first attempts at using greenstuff. The banner under his foot is unpainted yet due to the fact im not sure what i would like to see on it. the Stone stairs are made of styrofoam from a TV packaging peice. I think it turned out alright and IMHO i would give it a 6 so please be crucial and give me some tips please! ILL FATED USHER

The base is nice, but needs touching up where the grey paint has got onto the border. But next to the red carpet, the rest of the model looks washed out and vague. This model needs to have a really strong contrast between the tabard and the armour (and between the armour and the joints and decorations and suchlike) but the bone white seems to blend into the grey and metal without much distinction. Also, the freehand on the banners is messy (I have to say, though, that I've seen far worse efforts). So: colour balance, contrast and better use of freehand should be your points to work on. The model's probably a '5' at this point, but I've given you +1 for the imaginative base.
