Brigade Games Buccaneer
I've been away from painting for a long, long time. I did most of my work for various shops I worked at between 1997 and 2000, and never had much drive to paint much until I got back into historical gaming recently. This was one of my first attempts back at the palette; probably the 10th mini or so I've painted in the last 8 years. I started using Vallejo paints, and I like it for the most part, but I have been finding Foundry to be of equal quality with the added convenience of coming in matched sets. The base is pretty simple since it's going to be used for gaming. I really wanted to try my hand at shading some colors I hadn't used in a while, so I went with a blue coat to go with the khaki lining. I wasn't thrilled with the way it turned out, but it's good enough for gaming use. Cooler shades were never my thing, time to practice I think. Hitting just the right tones and shades for skin has been a big of a challenge too, although I feel it's coming back. So long story short, I appreciate honesty and any constructive criticism, as I'm building my skills back up.
