I think you're putting the paint on too thickly.
Dilute your paint down until it's like milk and paint two or three coats to get solid colors.
It's hard to get used to doing it this way but diluted paint dries much faster than thick paint so you only have to wait a minute before you can apply another coat.
Its a good start, you have the colors in the right places. you need to find some resources about highlighting. There are some good articles on this site. Keep working on it. :)
