Sin Assyrîs
A very pleasant sculpt to paint. The overall slimline upper body contrasting wonderfully with the billowing robe ; a contrast taken into the design of the weapons: with one slim line, while the other displays a "cleaver-business" profile. Joyous! This piece was used for yet another NMM recipe... I think it is too flat, but still has a certain charm. The blades are not supposed to be NMM: I wanted the blueish tint... yet it rusts! Just use your imagination to come up with something that rusts and is not metallic -> this is fantasy after all! The base is mainly made out of a ball of fimo squished into a muddy/rocky morass. A hair drier was used to cook the fimo, as putting a plastic base in an oven is a bit stupid... so an hour under the drier did the trick! Then barbed wire etched brass and a bit of wood glue to make the goo... the pipe it's oozing out of is just the protective cap of a paintbrush (medium dry brush I think :D ) My photography is improving but obviously still needs some work :D... I'll get round to that soon because there are quite a few pieces that are just itching to pose for the camera! I hope you enjoy this piece! please feel free to post comments and constructive criticisms!
