Warrior Priest

This is the second version I have painted of this sculpt, an absolutely fantastic miniature by Mike Anderson (I believe?). I gave the miniature a shield (cheap points for adding a little freehand), it is otherwise unconverted. I added some skulls and bones to the base, because its a Warhammer miniature, and in the Warhammer world, people tend to leave their dead lying around the ground for decoration, apparently. There is also some unnecesarry spikes jutting out of the ground, for some reason. The dog is from the Bretonnia plastik set, and I tied him in with the base by sculpting a bone in its mouth. My main motivation for painting this sculpt, came when Jakob Nielsen told me he was planning to go to Salute in London, and would be entering his recently painted Warrior Priest. So logic dictates, if I am entereing a painting comp. vs. Jakob, it should be a fair fight, so paint the same miniature :P -In the end Jakob decided not to enter his warrior priest, and instead entered one of his own Runic Miniatures pieces. So basically this miniature is wasted effort.. hehe.. okay maybe not really :) Was fun to paint anyway, its one of the types of miniatures that just paints itself up because the sculpt is so good. The resin display base is from Fenris Games : http://stores.ebay.com/Fenris-Games. Very, very nice display bases!
