Hi there, there is sure a reason to be proud, no doubt - you paint since one year and that result is fine, really. Keep it up! The next thing i would try if i would be you, would be to work with glazes, which means you thin the colours more with water to get more control of your painting and not as thick paint on top of the other while painting...
