I don't see where Dragonsreach is talking about thick paint, but I will say the armor could do with a considerable amount more shading. hope that helps.

A generous five rather than a four from me - it's hard to find a part of the miniature that I would say impresses me at all, but there are some attempts at building up layers. I think you need to go for more contrast perhaps - everything seems flat and uninspired. However, it's a quick job for ebay, not an attempt at a Demon.

I dunno DR - maybe turn up the gamma on your monitor? The face looks pretty good to me - though the bat swarm does look rather simply drybrushed. I think the messiest area IMO is the red layered armour chest area... I can see some shading and highlighting, but I'll agree it does appear messy - although I know how much of a pain red is to get differing tones from. I like wat you've tried to do with the swords, though maybe a thinner or more finely pointed brush is required for your edging... As for any other tips - I'd scrape the edges of the base to tidy it - maybe colour the black brown and invest in some static grass - cos green flock always looks a bit naff except in certain circumstances. Other than that, I can't really see anything else due to the quality of the photo. Hope THAT helps you a bit though :P
