Soviet Imperial Guardsman

My new army for 5th Edition (once the Guard Codex is out). Soviet style Imperial Guardsmen. I'm not sure if I'm going to go the Mechanized route with them, or a horde of untrained C unit conscripts. I think I'm going to end up going mech with the amount of work involved though. Just means I get to make some Ru-55 (Leman Russ) Tanks and CMP-2 (Chimera) AFV's. Scratch built helmet with a Catachan head, Cut down and modified Catachan lasgun, Cadian legs, Cadian arms with the shoulder pads removed, unarmored torso from the Tank Accessory sprue and accessories from Guard and Marine sprues. Áîëüøîå ñïàñèáî!

They're magazine pouches. Same size as the Marine bolter ones (since thats what they are). I've also ordered brass etch Imperial Eagles for the guns. How can they not be a viable 40K army? The Guard have Mongol horsemen, British Imperial troops, Rambo clones, WWII Russians, Halflings, Ogres, and what ever the Vostroyans are... the only common link is the Imperial Eagle (which I have on his chest). =)

dude, those pouches are massive. also, you should try and keep some imperial ties, just so they look viable as a 40K army
