All veterans have a soft spot for the venerable Rogue Trader rulebook with its illustration of the Crimson Fists under desperate assault by Space Orks, and I've been wanting to do Crimson Fists for ages. This model was my chance, and I was really pleased with how the mix of Regal Blue came up to highlights with Enchanted Blue and a touch of Astronomican Grey. The freehand chapter symbol and banner were time-consuming but great fun... except for the lettering which took me four goes and nearly had me tearing my hair out!

I took the photo in bad light and tweaked the colour balance a bit. That might have turned him a wee bit purple, as I had to increase the red levels to bring out the red details. He's blue in real life. Promise! I really have to build myself a light box, because my ratings on CMON really don't reflect the minis...

Hi precinctomega, please do not take this the wrong way, your mini is nicely painted, however you may need to re think the colours, Crimson fists are dark blue with a red hand, what I see is a purple marine with a yellow fist and green skin. Nice freehand though.
