Cavern of Doom

This is a commission piece that I recently wrapped up. The challenge here was to bring a 2d map from the early 80's tabletop game, Heritage Dungeon Dwellers, and reproduce it as a 3d playable gaming piece. This piece is in true 25mm scale, and measures 32" x 20". I built the board itself out of high density foam, re-enforced with foamcore. A few bits of it were storebought, such as the Iron Maiden and the Rack, which came from GFI. The miniatures themselves were from Heritage Dungeon Dwellers, and painted by Darron Lafleur. Some of the chests are storbought, some are scratchbuilt. A fun bit of this piece, is that all of the doors are functional, using DuBro model airplane hinges to swing the doors. The water is made using Woodland Scenics Realistic Water. http://www.dungeon-dwellers.info/

Awesome work as always. It must have been a pain in the ass to carve out all those bricks? I love all the little ornaments and details but the rock walls are a little let-down. Okay, they are carved out by human hands but they don't have to be that flat. Love your work
