Wow, this one deserved a story to go along with it. Just one thing, which in my oppinion would help make this idea all the more plausible: I'd probably remove the identification symbols from the sides, as the russians would spot this a mile away; but leave the air recognition marking (the hakkenkreuz) so the vehicle wouldn't get pummeled by friendly air forces.
