Female Vampire - Bronze at GDLA 2008
This was a fun mini to paint. I love the sculpt (with the exception of the face). I tried painting some reflections in the NMM, such as the reflection of the flowers in the blade. You can also see some more subtle reflections like the hand on the inside of the sword handle, and on the daggers. This was also an experiment in painting fabric textures. The blue fabric is a horizontal pattern, and the tan fabric is a diagonal-cross pattern. I painted the gold trim to resemble embroidery. Overall this was a great learning experience and I am pretty happy with how it turned out. Comments/Critique is always welcome. I make sure to return the favor. :) I am very honored to say that this won a bronze award at Games Day LA 2008! The competition was very rough and kudos to everyone's beautiful entries!
