Impact! Deadling Skeleton Runner - ZlurpeeBowl IV Legacy Team
I painted this figure in June of 2008, keeping my pace at the time of painting one miniature per year, and painting them all for the Legacy teams of fantasy football forums. This one in particular was done for the Legacy Team of the 2008 ZlurpeeBowl IV Blood Bowl tournament, held earlier this year in Indianapolis. Sadly, I wasn't able to attend the tournament myself, but wanted to contribute a miniature to the team out of respect for the tournament's organizer. The guidelines for this combined group project was that the miniatures' uniforms had to be green, and you needed to put the figure's number on the front of the base and your forum name on the back. This Skeleton Runner is made by Impact! Miniatures, from their Deadlings team of fantasy football figures. The Deadlings, as should be evident from this guy, are awesome figures with a ton of character. They're halfing-sized undead, with this guy measuring about 13mm to his eyes -- that's a normal 25mm base he's on, to give you an idea of just how small he is! Not only do I love his goofy grin, but his pose is great, too; I just wish I'd taken the picture from a lower angle, so I could've better captured the fact that only his cloak is actually touching the ground -- his feet are each several millimeters above the ground... reminiscent of Wile E. Coyote's spinning feet in the old "Road Runner" cartoons!
