SE NMM doesn't appear on flat surfaces.
It is always horizontal to the ground with looked at from perpendicular to the surface, curving out of the vertical as the service curvers away from the viewer.
The exception is when the object is a rod, where the SE reflection runs the length of the rod, exactly parallel to the rod, assuming the rod is straight.
It's wacky hard, but look at pictures by real artists for ideas. Nicely painted otherwise.
