Thousand Sons Deamon Prince
This is the Deamon Prince I did for my local Game Store's Thousand Sons Army. This guy was a real pain to do, the conversion is the usual swap for wings in place of the jump pack, but the wings gave me a lot of trouble getting in the way when trying to do the highlighting. The highlighting is done on the armor from a base of Regal Blue, Black Ink Wash, then rebased with Midnight blue up 12 layers to Ice Blue. The highlighting is subtle at the client's request. I experimented again with Jenova's "funky water bases" and went for a blood red water base. I like the look. This guy is so huge I didn't really want to add little snippits from different angles. I'll post more pics of different angles later. I'm not real happy with the sword, though I like how the runes turned out. Just Firey Orange and Magic Wash. Skin tone is just a modified version of my gold nmm technique using Snakebite Leather, Leprous Brown, Flesh Wash, Golden Yellow, Sunburst Yellow, then Bleached Bone. The wings are Chaos Black, then a few layers of dry-brushing with Space Wolves Gray added to the base color. Over all, 63 hours, various puncture wounds, including having the wing imbedded in my leg when my toddler came running up to me while painting. Comments Please.
