my recipie for lava which really looks cool. Try this on small rock base an see if you like it. Heavy golden yellow, lighter blood red, lighterscorched brown and finaly chos black. This sounds backward to all highlighting techniques going from light to dark but belive me its worth it.

GW did the flames all wrong, there was a whole discussion about this on the GW forums. In the movie the Balrog's flames are white at the core and red on the "outside". As for the grass, it is totally up to you, though i doubt you'll play many games with the Balrog, what with his high points and all that! Anyway, my vote is a 7 +1 for an LOTR miniature

I think what DarkAvatar means is this. Regardless of how the GW reference you used was painted, flames are brighter at the source. I like your mini. Keep up the good work!
