Dead Head High Elf Spearman Detail
This is a close-up of one of my spearmen from the unit CMON #19248 (check it out for the banner). I wanted to give a better view of the scabbard, spearhead, and rainbow breastplate/tie-dye tunic. I tried to use the very simplest NMM effect from Chrispy's article, but using metal paints. I think the spearhead came out well since it looks like the light source is to the right of the camera, just as it does in the gems, but in fact light is even all over. Each spearman has the title of a different Grateful Dead song on his scabbard in Tolkein's elven runes. The scabbard fades from a light blue to a pale violet. I like the way the rainbow looks on the breastplate. I look forward to hearing what you think.
