This is, without a doubt, my favourite incarnation of the whole 'half-in-half-out' stealth suit effect. The ones that people paint with the cloaked areas imitating the base/environment colours have the unfortunate side effect of making the so called 'invisible' areas stand out way more than the uncloaked bits. Although technically a more accurate representation of what's happening, they always require a bit of a double take to work out mentally.
These on the other hand, whilst not as technically correct if taken literally, are far more suggestive of the stealth effect at a glance and really demonstrate the whole 'suspension of disbelief vs. uncanny valley' thing. Beautifully executed good sir, truly inspirational.
PS: I would give me first born and 50 goats for a higher resolution image! I'd love to see exactly how that shimmer effect works along the lines of the stealth effect.
