The hard edging looks quite messy in places. Try thinning your paints and applying the highlights in multiple thin layers. It will give you much more control. You could alsp try reverse highlighting. This is when you start at the edge with your lightest highlight and then work backwards towards your base colour by adding succesive darker shades leaving a thin line of the previous shade showing.
