Defiled Chaos Baneblade [Detail Images]
Here's Several Pics of my mostly finished Chaos Baneblade. My original idea was to make this look like an Imperial Guard Baneblade that has been captured in the field and defiled over many many centuries. I started by spraying several shades of brown / orange colors as a base. Then salt masked the soon to be rust areas off, sprayed grey primer, then Tamiya AS9 (my Imperial Guard standard green). After I removed the salt masking I darkened and dinged up the rust areas with several washes of Vermin Brown, Brown Ink and Ogryn Flesh Ink. I cleaned the edges of the rust with a Vallejo color that matches Tamiya AS9. All the brass areas were painted Dwarf Bronze, then Brass, then many layer build ups of green rust with Vallejo Bronze Green and some light washes of Ice Blue to bump up the contrast in the rust. All the lenses were mainly Snot Green and Scorpion Green with white highlights. The fire pit on the top of the flammer variant was my first attempt at OSL lighting. I must admit it looks better in pics than in person. This is another area I'll go back to and touch up down the road. Progress pics of it's construction can be found here: http://www.tankwareuropa.com/ & http://z11.invisionfree.com/Work_In_Progress/index.php?showtopic=13106
