Inquisitor Hadrian
“…and with sanctified power shackled in his hand, Hadrian drew forth the unclean from the riven corpse. And in his blessed grasp, the foulness did quake, for the grip of the righteous sears the flesh of the vile as surely as chastisement burns the unrepentant.” Inquisitor Hadrian is an inquisitor on foot with some adjustments and personalization. The basic figure is already pretty impressive, with a great pose firing over his shoulder accentuated with very nice movement in the sweep of his cloak. The decision to add a struggling little daemon held fast in his grasp was really a suggestion put into my head by a friend of mine (thanks Damien!). The daemon in question was a beastman ungor, with the simple addition of a pair of Warmaster harpy wings. I was really amused at the synergy between the models – the daemon looks like he’s about to piss himself, complete with cycling legs, and the tilt of Hadrian’s helmet appropriately suggests contempt at the worthless creature! To add a little individuality to Hadrian’s outfit, I decided to extend the Classical Greek ‘cuirass armour’ theme to include a horsehair helm. This was done by shaping a piece of 1mm thick plasticard into a shape that fit nicely onto the curve of his helm, onto which a green stuff bristle trim was added. This effectively relegated the Inquisition ‘I’ on the top of his helmet to the reduced role of filigree detail which was pretty ok with me, since I felt it looked rather silly anyway. The horsehair helm, coupled with the point of Hadrian’s chin, gave his head added ‘direction’ and enhanced the eye-line match between the protagonists. 'Nuff said, let me know what you think! btw, did you notice the tear on the daemon's cheek?
