I agree its a nice first attempt , take your time and learn how to apply the basic colours and then move on to shading and you will get there.

He's not bad for your first. It's a nice, clean paintjob. Try and water down your paints a little and apply in multiple layers rather than one or two thick ones. It'll really help!
