Scriptor Magister Mephiston

Another Blood Angel for my army. In fact, I decided collecting Blood Angels (instead of another order) after seeing this great sculpt for the first time. Now I finally got one of my own. The most interesting part was the back of his cloak. Shading two colors on each other, one of them being a freehand was really an interesting challenge. I also found out that grey is really a horrible color when it comes to blending. And it was probably a bad idea painting the lightning structure on an already shaded weapon. Error correction was nearly impossible as I always needed to find the right color shade again. The rest of the miniture ist pretty basic red and bone shading. And don't be irritated by that white stains on the center of the freehand on the back. That's a picture artefact I have no idea where it came from :-(. Hope you enjoy him and of course, comments are always welcome.

I love the warm-cold-contrast between the sword and the red parts. Only thing that bothers me are the missing shades and lights at some parts and the fact that the sword draws almost all the attention of the viewer's eye. But for being created in 2003, it's really great!

The sword really doesn't bother me at all, but the figure really needs something other than the standard backpack.

I agree. The face, cloak, and armor are really excellent with a realistic style. The sword is more cartoony, which seems to clash.
