Therese, Female Thief

This is the first mini I've ever painted. I'm hoping for some good constructive critcism. Don't hold back! Sorry about the picture quality, I know that sucks...

I really like the colors you used. Very clean/neat paintjob. Try using more light and dark on the tan and black parts.

Certainly not bad for a first mini. A few tips... Try to outline the finer detail with dark contours. The easiest way to do this is to first paint them in a dark colour after having painted the surrounding areas. Then paint the details using lighter colours, and leave a thin line defining the shape of the detail. If you look at the straps on the arms, for instance, the contours are a bit messy and some skin colour bleed into the edge of the straps making them look a bit blurred. Also, the buckles, and details on the tunic would benefit from being painted dark first and then picked out with lighter colours. Another thing is to embed the integral base on the plastic base using some putty. This is quite easy to do, and you can detail the surface of the putty by glueing some sand or other stuff for texture before painting it.
