Eldar Test Scheme

This is a test model for a potential Eldar army. I tried a lot of new stuff here, like the nnm on the sword hilt and sword itself, along with weathering/battle damage and an attempt at glowing eyes. All of these techniques are brand new to me, and I would greatly appreciate it if an experienced painter would give me tips on how to enhance the outcome of my models. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Spot on with the gold NMM, but the silver is almost always a little trickier, especially with the blade. Excellent for your first try, however, very well done. The glowing eyes are decent, you have the right shape for the color but you need to make the center of the eyes nearly white and then darken until you reach the first edge of the faceguard, where it is nearly white again (but not as white as the eyes) and then start to darken from there. The weathering looks good, it just needs to be deeper- more layers, try some scab red along with the brown (rust is more red than brown) and maybe a little bit of silver showing. The gems are top notch, especially the one on his chest. Oh one more thing- the black stuff on his helmet- is that more weathering? or part of the scheme because it looks a little awkward- if its weathering, like i said, deeper, more layers of color to show the way the damage extends through the top layer of paint into the actual metal of the armor itself. Overall, however, it looks great. I am a fan of the colors as well, the tan and white looks good together.

Forgot to say; the glow around the eyes is brighter than the eyes. Should be the reverse, no?

Hey I'm no expert but there's loads of great bits on this. The NMM is ace, really like it. The eyes are also very good but probably too red where the glow meets the edge of the white helmet. Weathering maybe a bit overdone though - their armour uses wraithbone plates so maybe the damage should be a bone colour inside the black? Just an idea, not sure it'd work...
