Ok, so i slapped more paint on it, and i dropped it, hence the lance is off at the mo. I think the freehand is okish? It's better than i normally do anyhow's. What do you think?

I wasn't that taken with the paintjob at first, it looked clumsy, but then if you'd done the same paint style on paper it would look fine. However, with miniatures one cannot get away so much with an impressionist approach. If you smooth out your transitions between colours and sharpen up the highlights and shading I suspect we'll see great things from you. The freehand is okay, but could do with a little refinement on the outlining which is a little thick for the design. This is an interesting approach to miniature painting though since the skill is there but it's not the usual method.
