Don't fret too much, the beginning is always a challenge. The figure can be improved without too much difficulty. The base colors are in place, but you can dramatically improve it with shading and washes to give the illusion of greater depth, and with highlights to further increase that. Then a bit of work on the base for scenery and effect - glue down some sand and gravel, and paint it, then add some static grass.
Worse come to worse, there's always PineSol.
Yes, it's a Tzeentch disc rider but it's still avaible in the online store. Just look for it in the search window.
Talking about the mini mmmm... I think it needs much more highlights, it's painted so flat.
